An exhibition of Asian diaspora artists living in the United States who reimagine ancient cultural practices and mythologies as part of their practice. Featuring works by Caroline Garcia, Jia Sung, and AYDO (A young Yu & Nicholas Oh).

The exhibition highlights the need to reimagine ritual practices to serve us today. Since ancient narratives tend to represent outdated ideologies, the artists are interested in subverting patriarchal values and gender binaries to create their own future folklores centering on the goddess archetype.

 

apexart is a non-profit arts organization with exhibitions and public programs taking place in NYC and internationally. ‘Goddess Tales’ was selected through their unique democratic bi-annual Open Call process from more than 550 submissions.
